Mapp, Blanco pile on DCU misery
A 38th minute strike by Justin Mapp and brilliant goal by Cuahtemoc Blanco on 62 minutes sealed DC United’s doom in the Thursday night national television showcase. It was Chicago’s third victory in a row and catapults the Fire into first place in the Eastern Conference. With a 5-1-1 record and 11-3 goal differential, Denis Hamlett’s side can rightfully stake their claim as the class of the league. DC United fans, meanwhile, have to wonder what it’s going to take to stop the bleeding. Tom Soehn’s job maybe?

Fire Look To Continue Hot Streak Against D.C United»
With the loss of Ben Olsen and the departure of Christian Gomez, the Screaming Eagles find themselves near the bottom of the table. There is no bite in their attack and no steel in their defense.
